Market Segment - Department of DefenseClientU.S. Navy Intelligence division is responsible for identifying the advancements of other nations navies. Project BackgroundThe U.S. Navy sought to introduce a new Human Resources Management (HRM) system to manage their complex organizational structure. The challenge in designing an HRM system for the Navy was a requirement to track Navy Staff on deployment. SolutionData Interaction provided the information system architecture to manage the complex global HRM environment. The Navy’s goal was to automate the entire recruit-to-retire process to align human asset capabilities to the mission and identify were individual’s were deployed on a real-time basis. In combination with Oracle, Data Interaction provided an integrated data model that managed recruitment, rank management, education, compensation, benefits, health status, payroll, and real-time analytics about sailors deployment and shift hours. By combining data from the HRM system with other software applications the U.S. Navy was able to provide an open channel of communication between, the sailors and their families.
Once the HRM system was established Data Interaction participated in designing reporting functionality. The chosen technology was based on an Oracle solution and involved a web based reporting as well as web services, (i.e. SOA) to other Navy software applications.
